New England Patriots’ cornerback , Jack Jones, made headlines, June 19th, as he was arrested for having two guns in his carry-on luggage at the Logan Airport in Boston. The news caught fans by surprise as a resurfaced Twitter post calling out Ja Morant gun issues went viral.

“ @JaMorant dumb.. you letting social media and yo pride ruin yo real money. Put them guns down and run that money up. Make one of yo homies sign up for security or concealed carry if you feel like you need it that bad.. but you the bread winner you gotta start acting like it.."

The Memphis Grizzlies star player has been suspended by the National Basketball Association for holding a gun on his Instagram story. He is expected to be suspended for 25 games beginning in the 2023-2024 season.

"The potential for other young people to emulate Ja's conduct is particularly concerning. Under these circumstances, we believe a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes clear that engaging in reckless and irresponsible behavior with guns will not be tolerated."- Adam Silver stated

Jack Jones publicly condemned Morant's reckless behavior and supported the National Basketball Association's decision. The tweet, however, came back to bite him when he was arrested at Logan Airport by the State Police. His bail was set at $50,000 and he has since been released.

The New England Patriots released a vague statement regarding the arrest and what it means for the upcoming season.

The Patriots legal team stated “We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time."

As a result of how Jack Jones responded to Ja Morant, the internet has made it a point to highlight the irony of his situation.
