Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game is a beloved midseason break and a chance for fans to have a say in who takes the field. It’s where the league’s biggest names get to show off and rivalries meet on neutral turf.

This year’s All-Star Game will be played at the home of the Atlanta Braves in Truist Park on July 16, where baseball’s biggest stars, chosen by you, will take the spotlight. From the red carpet entrances to the first pitch, all of the action will be covered on FOX Sports.

The Midsummer Classic isn’t just about the All-Star Game, it’s a three-day package full of many exciting events for fans to enjoy. Highlights include the Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday, July 12, and the Home Run Derby on Monday, July 14, where eight of the games best power hitters compete to see who can hit the most homers. While these two events are not fan-voted, they’re still very fun to watch!

Whether you’re new to All-Star voting or just need a refresher, this guide will walk you through how to cast your ballot and what to expect leading up to this year’s Midsummer Classic.

The Voting Process

Phase one of All-Star voting opened up on June 4 and runs through Thursday, June 26 at noon ET. Fans can vote once a day per MLB account (which is free to make), and can submit up to five ballots. Where to vote? MLB.com/vote or on the MLB app!

The ballot is broken down by league and position, with the American League on the left in red, and the National League on the right in blue. Phase one will narrow each league’s field to two finalists per position. During this phase, it’s all about getting your favorite players into the top two, so take advantage of your free daily votes!

Phase two of All-Star voting opens at noon ET on June 30 and closes at noon ET on July 2. This is where the finalists for each position go head-to-head. In this phase, fans can only vote once per day, and previous ballots will not carry over. This is where things start to get competitive.

All-Star starters will be announced on ESPN at 7 pm ET on July 2. While fans vote for the starters, pitchers and reserves are determined through player ballots and the Commissioner’s Office. The complete All-Star rosters will be revealed on ESPN at 5 pm ET on July 6.

This year's All-Star managers are Dave Roberts of the defending World Series Champion Dodgers for the National League, and Aaron Boone of the reigning American League Champion Yankees.

MLB recently launched this year’s gear for the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. While players won't be wearing these jerseys during the game, they’ll stick to their regular team uniforms instead. However, they will be wearing the new All-Star hats.

The All-Star Game is for the fans, and voting is your way to shape the starting lineup. Whether you're drawn by the stats, the stories, or the red carpet selfies, having a say is pretty powerful. Vote with your heart to choose your favorites, with your eyes to choose players with the most swag, or with your brain by using actual stats. Just be sure to make an MLB account if you want a say in who takes the field in this year’s All-Star Game!
