As the MLB All-Star game quickly approaches on July 11 in Seattle, Washington, the MLB released their All-Star Week Schedule. The schedule allows fans to have new experiences leading to the main event.

Starting on Friday, July 7, T-Mobile is sponsoring the first event called the HBCU Swingman Classic. HBCU stands for Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This event will bring together the Division I programs and Ken Griffey Jr. will highlight the history and legacies of the programs. Along with that, 50 players from these programs will be able to showcase their talent on a national stage.

Capital One will be sponsoring the next event on Saturday, July 8 called Play Ball Park. This event goes through Tuesday, July 11, at Lumen and the Lumen Field Event Center. This includes indoor/outdoor experiences, blending baseball, softball, music, food, the latest VR technology, shopping, fashion, and more. There will be autograph sessions, clinics, and demonstrations provided by Seattle Mariner players like Edgar Martinez, Bret Boone, and Mike Cameron. The All-Star Futures Game will also be taking place Saturday. This event, sponsored by SiriusXM, includes the top prospects that are nearing the majors. If you’re not too interested in baseball, the MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game will take place to finish off of the day.

On Sunday, July 9, the opening night of the MLB Draft will start at 4 PM inside Play Ball Park. This will feature the first two rounds, compensatory rounds, and competitive balance rounds. The public is able to watch in person!

Tuesday, the 10, holds one of the most popular events, besides the actual All-Star game. The T-Mobile Home Run Derby brings in so much energy from the fans that they’re able to witness some of the most talented offensive players.

Finally, on Wednesday the 11th, is the All-Star Game presented by MasterCard. This is the first time in 22 years that Seattle hosts this game! The Red Carpet Show will be hosted at Pike Place Market before that. This will lead the players through a crowd of fans, and media, and there will be exclusive coverage on MLB Network.

Besides these events, Seattle is also hosting two other events: the All-Star Drone Show and the All-Star Movie Nights, which are both at the Seattle Center. The drone show involves 600 lighted drones that will create baseball-themed images and Seattle scenes. This is available to the public as well. The movie night will be after the Home-Run Derby, and The Sandlot will be played at the Mural Amphitheater.

There are a lot of big events leading up to the All-Star Game with so many opportunities for the fans to engage!
