Our Favorite NHL WAGs This Hockey Season

Everyone thinks about Hailee Steinfeld or Livvy Dunne when they think about the WAGs of their favorite players, but what about the women who play huge roles behind the scenes in the lives of the best NHL players? While many of them may not have celebrity status likening to that of, you know, Taylor Swift, we still love their relationships with our favorite players, so let's take a look at some of the pairings in the league that are definite couple goals!
Connor McDavid and Lauren Kyle

The Edmonton Oilers' star tied the knot with his longtime partner Lauren Kyle in July of 2024 in what the pair called a "10 day production". Kyle is an interior designer, so it's no surprise that this wedding was crafted to perfection. She is also very active on social media and is always posting about their relationship, so it's not hard to tell that her and McDavid are couple goals. Kyle is involved in the fashion side of being an NHL WAG, too: she helped design some of the Team Canada WAG jackets for the 2025 Four Nations series, and she's also played a role in some of our favorite WAG jackets in the 2024 and 2025 Stanley Cup Finals. Like the Oilers' design team (probably), we're glad she's here, and with Connor's 2 year contract extension he recently signed with Edmonton, we're glad she's staying!
Leon Draisaitl and Celeste Desjardins

We couldn't put Connor and Lauren on this list without also including their partners in crime, Leon Draisaitl and Celeste Desjardins. The pair was married in a gorgeous ceremony in August of this year after over five years together, with their closest friends Connor and Lauren in attendance. Desjardins posted many clips from the wedding on her Instagram and it looked like an absolute blast. It seems like these two truly bring out the best in one another, and we love to see it!
Mitch Marner and Stephanie LaChance

The newest member of the Las Vegas Golden Knights married his long time girlfriend over the summer of 2023. The pair first met in elementary school, but reconnected 10 years later when Steph was attending Western University, and Mitch was playing for the OHL's London Knights. The pair also welcomed their first child this past May, so with Marner's new start in Vegas this season, we're excited for them to navigate parenthood together. Any childhood sweethearts story is sweet, but Mitch and Steph make it even more swoon worthy!
Jacob Trouba and Kelly Tyson-Trouba

Speaking of swoon-worthy love stories... Jacob and Dr. Kelly Tyson-Trouba have one of the best. The pair met at the University of Michigan when Tyson was there to work towards her medical degree (we love women in STEM!). After college, Trouba was playing for the Winnipeg Jets, and Tyson was doing a medical program in Florida, where she was flying in and out of Canada as often as she could. When Trouba was traded to New York, though, the distance no longer impacted the pair, and Dr. Kelly (yes, the prefix matters - she worked hard for it!) managed to get a residency in the city. Now, Trouba is an Anaheim Duck, the pair welcomed their first child in January of 2024, and they are thriving. Dr. Kelly Tyson-Trouba is a classic example of a girlboss, and we love to see independent women thriving!
JT Brown and Lexi Lafleur

While this may be cheating since J.T. Brown is not an active player in the NHL anymore, this list simply would not be complete without this iconic couple. Lafleur really is that hockey WAG - she has amassed a sizable following on her social media where she talks about what it's really like to be a WAG in the NHL, along with her latest journey as a hockey romance book author. You can buy her debut novel Shoot Your Shot in your local bookstore, and her second novel Evening The Score is available for pre-order! Lafleur and Brown have also been very outspoken on topics like LGBTG+ and Indigenous rights, and in a community where things like that do not get talked about, that truly matters and is wonderful to see. It seems safe to say that this couple is absolutely adored, both by fans of the sport and in general. We're excited to read Lafleur's new novel, too; her writing provides us with a genuine perspective into hockey romance, and of course, some cute couples!
