She’s got the bars, he’s got the game – this rumored romance is giving main character energy.
The rumors have been confirmed! Ice Spice and New York Jets’ star cornerback, Sauce Gardner, are finally Instagram official! On April 29, the couple posted a cute mirror selfie on Ice Spice’s Instagram story, leaving us all shocked, surprised, or excited that the rumors were true. There’s been a lot shared about these two on social media since they were first shipped in 2024, so let’s break down the timeline of their relationship status.
Both icons broke into the media in 2022. Gardner was drafted No. 4 overall, and Ice Spice gained fame on TikTok with her hit song “Much (Feelin’ U).” Since then, both have gained some serious popularity in their respective industries.
After being selected fourth overall by the New York Jets in 2022, Gardner became the highest drafted cornerback in Jets’ history and became the starting cornerback during his first season. He won the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award and was named All-Pro. That same year, he was ranked 23rd by the players in the NFL Top 100 Players of 2023. In the following season, Gardner received first-team All-Pro honors, marking him as the third defensive player and only cornerback in NFL history to receive those honors for his first two seasons. Gardner wrapped up his latest season with 49 combined tackles, nine pass deflections, one interception and one sack, ranking him 47th of 222 qualifying NFL cornerbacks in 2024. The Jets have signed Gardner for a fifth year in 2025.
Ice Spice has also had some amazing accomplishments since her music career debut in 2020. After going viral on TikTok in 2022, she signed with 10K Projects and Capitol Records and released two singles to promote her extended play Like..? By doing so, she promoted her first Billboard Hot 100-top ten single “Princess Diana,” which reached number 15 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, she collaborated with some amazing stars and released singles like “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2,” “Karma,” and “Barbie World,” which all reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. She officially became the only rapper to release four songs that achieved top-ten status in 2023. In 2024, she released her debut album Y2K!. She has also won many awards including All-Rap Caviar: Second Team, BET Hip-Hop Award: Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist, Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players: Rookie of the Year, Billboard’s Women in Music: Impact Award, MTV Video Music Awards: Best New Artist, and The People’s Choice Awards: New Artist of the Year and Collaboration Song of the Year, all in 2023. The following year, she was awarded Billboard’s Women in Music: Hitmaker Award, Kids’ Choice Awards: Favorite Music Collaboration, and iHeartRadio Music Awards: Best New Hip-Hop Artist.
Safe to say, this was a power couple in the making. But they only first met in 2024. During LeBron James’ talk show “The Shop” in April 2024, both were interviewed, sparking dating rumors. Nothing else hinted at them being an item just yet, until September 2024, when Ice Spice was seen on the jumbotron at MetLife Stadium watching the Jets. It seemed as though a romance might start to take flight!
On Feb. 12, 2025, the duo was spotted walking into a New York City club. While this wouldn’t seem too suspicious, it was a club premiering Druski’s “Coulda Been Love” dating show. So love truly was in the air? Then, a couple of weeks later, on Feb. 27, a video was posted on X of the pair riding an escalator together. Finally, just to send people into a spiral, the two left the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party together, which seemed to seal the deal in the public eye.
And now we’re here. A sneaky little mirror selfie is circling the internet, and we’re all thinking one thing: power couple. With both Sauce Gardner and Ice Spice having a debut in New York in 2022, multiple awards, and not to mention, names that go well together. He’s locking it down like a cornerback, but she’s the one making hearts fumble – real “Princess Diana” behavior.
