With the Seattle Seahawks winning Super Bowl LX, it's critical to recognize how they got there. Their 29-13 win against the New England Patriots showed just how dominant they were this season.

They began their season by signing notable players who had a pivotal role in the outcome. They signed big names such as Sam Darnold, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Julian Love. The Seahawks finalizing some of their key players led them to have a successful season.

The Seahawks signed Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract in March 2025. Also in March, Seattle signed Cooper Kupp to a three-year, $45 million contract, following his departure from the Los Angeles Rams.

Following Seattle's signings, they were ready to begin their pre-season. At the end of the pre-season, the Seahawks had a 1-1-1 record, winning against the Kansas City Chiefs 33-16, tying with the Las Vegas Raiders 23-23, and losing to the Green Bay Packers 20-7. While they were ranked last in the NFC West, that didn't stop them from having an explosive season.

During the 2025 season, the Seattle Seahawks had a 14-3 record and led the NFC West. The only other team that had the same record as the Seahawks was in the AFC East, and that was the Patriots. Seattle began their season with a loss against the San Francisco 49ers, 13-17. Ironically, Seattle defeated the 49ers in Week 18, 13-3, and then in the Divisional Playoff Round, 41-6.

There were times throughout the season when Seattle had a comfortable lead in the game, such as when they won against the Minnesota Vikings 26-0 in Week 13. However, they also had some close games. In Week 4, they played against the Arizona Cardinals, where they won 23-20. Then in Week 15, they won against the Indiana Colts 18-16. The following week, they faced the Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle took the win in overtime, 38-37.

With such close games, this allowed the Seahawks to adapt and learn how to come through in these tight-knit plays. During the road to the Super Bowl, the Seahawks had to play against the Niners, where Seattle took the win 41-6. Within a week, they faced the Los Angeles Rams, and the Seahawks took a 31-27 win, which led them to the Super Bowl.

The first score during the Super Bowl came at 11:58 into the first quarter, when Jason Myers scored a 33-yard field goal. It was the only scoring play to occur until the second quarter. During the second quarter, Myers scored back-to-back field goals, one being 39 yards and the other being 41 yards. Then, in the third quarter, Myers kicked another 41-yard field goal, making the game 12-0.

Things began to unravel in the fourth quarter, when Seattle's QB, Darnold, passed the ball to AJ Barner and scored a touchdown. In response, Drake Maye, the Patriots QB, passed the ball to Mack Hollins, making it 19-7.

While the game wasn't fully out of reach, the Seahawks made sure to get some more points for a comfortable lead. Seattle proceeded to kick for a field goal, and they scored another touchdown to make it a 29-7 game. Ultimately, the last scoring played occured with 2:21 remaining on the clock, and Rhamondre Stevenson scored a seven-yard touchdown, making it 29-13, which was the final score.

On February 8, the Seahawks won their second Super Bowl, following the franchise's first Super Bowl win in 2014, against the Denver Broncos. With their explosive plays and dominant players, there was not much doubt that Seattle would get the win against the Patriots.
